I particularly like the no obligation part about the coupon.

However, it would be great if Whole Foods (and other companies) would send coupons via text message, as another option. It would be a great way to reduce paper waste.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

Thanks for sharing this, Alan. It's great to see an example of a company doing things right.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

Thanks for sharing Alan. This is a nice example of how to use Facebook to meet customer's wants and needs.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

They are doing a great job with social media. Do you know who they use for outside help and who manages the program internally at Whole Foods?

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

Likewise, thanks for the example. I certainly don't mind borrowing good ideas.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

@mrhames yep, i try and steer them away from these places unless theres a desire to show some sort of commitment beyond flavour of the month.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

@Eaon (we should definitely catch up) and Bryan: glad I could help

@Matt: Congrats on the "twictory" and thanks for adding that.

Sadly, I find that companies are still rushing to put up websites and
microsites without thinkng what people will get out of them-- little
has changed since the 90s.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

eaon and Bryan: do a facebook page, but have a reason to get people back. without it, we're all back in the 90's when there was a rush to get a 'website' (without thinking what people would get out of it.)

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

They also do an excellent job on Twitter. I won the Tweet of the Day a few weeks ago and got a $25 gift card mailed to me. Not sure of the TOD feature is still live, or if it as a promo that had a # of followers goal, but they fulfilled in 3 days.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

I loved your post from last June about companies misusing Facebook. I passed that one around to a ton of folks, and I'll do the same with this one. Like Eaon, I've had a hard time finding companies who are doing Facebook well. There's a mad rush in the client world to get out there, but the strategy for doing so is absent most of the time. Thanks much.

Re: Five Reasons Why Whole Foods Gets Facebook

thanks.
been poking around for an example of facebook done properly to try and get something going on for a client who is determined they should be there.
hey presto...instant case study.
how you doing anyway? long time no speak.
E
